Technology Gap Efficiency of Small-Scale Rice Processors in Anambra State, Nigeria

This paper aims to examine the technology gap efficiency of small-scale rice processors in Anambra State, Nigeria. The research was conducted through a survey 100 State. Data were collected with structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive, stochastic frontier analysis, meta-frontier model, inferential statistical techniques. study revealed that important variables processing present state are paddy, firewood, water, huller. Concerning economic-specific factors, cost grading other assets contributes inefficiency. results equally showed industry is tied or tangential output, meaning State making use best available. average index for 0.506, implying their output below potential by 49.4%. also participating non-participating as 0.924 0.983, respectively, participants need close an 8.0% gap, non-participants 2.0% gap. These gaps caused high equipment, input, inadequate infrastructure, among others contributing factors. concluded meta-technical (0.498) low needs be improved provision adequate technology, training, infrastructure bring current industrial production capacity 100.0%.
